Mapwalk.com

Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, I had a crazy day and just got slammed at work! Anyways, yesterday at work I took a break at 1pm to attend a program my work was hosting on Travelling Healthfully. There were a lot of people in attendance, but sadly not many lawyers mostly just our wonderful support staff at the firm. Such a shame because some of our lawyers do a lot of travelling for work and pleasure and lawyers are notorious for valuing work over health. I honestly didn't learn much from the hour presentation and could have taught the whole thing myself, but I did learn about this awesome website called Mapwalk. If you are travelling and want to find a route to walk or run, this is a great website. You can figure out how many miles you walked, and if you enter your weight and walking speed it estimates calories burned. Lunch was served at this event, but I had packed my lunch because my firm isn't very vegetarian friendly usually (although today they had subway and had veggie delight wraps).

On to my meals from Wednesday.....

Move over Au bon pain, I made the best yogurt parfait that really could have been store bought:


This included fresh strawberries and blackberries, one Cascade Fresh fat free Marionberry yogurt (very tasty, I think this was from whole foods), and a mixture of 1/4 cup of peanut butter granola and about 1 cup of Kashi 7 whole grain puffs. I buy these Kashi puffs often because it adds a lot of volume to my breakfasts because you get a whole cup for only 70 calories, but they are low on fiber and protein. The peanut butter granola I picked up after reading about it on Linds' blog. I love peanut butter and this granola was so awesome with the mixture of yogurt and berries in my parfait!


Around 11am, I needed a coffee break (I was getting hungry and tired) so I got a skinny mocha from Starbucks (130 calories for Grande, per the Starbucks website, which is great to compare calories of your favorite drinks).


Because I went to the healthy eating presentation from 1pm to 2pm, I didn't get to eat my lunch until 2pm. My Starbucks held me off until 1:30 (because of all the protein in the nonfat milk) but by 2pm I was super hungry. I had packed about 1.5 cups of my tofu vegetable stir fry and some fresh tomatoes.

I also took a bag of the baked lays from the Subway catered lunch. For some reason I felt so stuffed after these (130 calories in bag of baked lays) and maybe it was all the sodium. I had sodium in the stir fry, salt on my tomato and the salt from the chips.

I got home around 6:20 and wasn't in the mood for a real dinner. First of all I was still a little bloated from lunch, and I thought I was going to my 8pm Pilates class which is hard to do will a lot of food in your stomach. Plus I was in the mood for a sweet dinner, so for dinner I had an Ezekiel english muffin once half included 1/2 tbsp Peanut Butter & Co. Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, 1/2 tbsp of mini chocolate chips and 1/2 of banana. The other slice had 1/2 tbsp of Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and 1 tbsp of raspberry preserves. I also ate the other half of banana on the side. The mini chocolate chips melted into the peanut butter and it was so good, plus a 1/2 tbsp of chocolate chips only has 35 calories!!



Around 9pm I was a little hungry so I had a small bowl of cereal in a one cup plastic bowl. This is Kashi heart to heart with some mini chocolate chips and dried berries. So good, maybe not the healthiest combo but it was only a small bowl ; )
I'm late for a dentist appointment, so I will fill you in on today's eats and exercise hopefully tonight, although I am going to a musical with my mom and may not get home until 11.

when i first saw that dinner i thought you were having the english muffin with a pickle! now, i love pickles but what a strange combination that would be! and also, regarding your next post, my favorite thing about gelato is the mini spoon! I love it! i think it really forces you to slow down and savor your dessert more. what i usually do now is ask for one of the 'sample' spoons from ice cream places and eat my ice cream with that instead.
