Mame and Sushi!

Well I didn't get home until after 11pm last night, so here's what happened yesterday...

I slept in late (7am) because I had a dentist appointment at 9:30 and was not going to work until after. I ate breakfast when I woke up because I was hungry. I had a bowl of cereal with Kashi heart to heart, peanut butter granola, some dried berries, and skim milk.

After breakfast I was still able to do a great run (about 4.3 miles at 8.20 minutes per mile). Usually I have to run on an empty stomach or the food starts to bother me, but I was surprised that didn't happen this morning.

I ate lunch at my desk. I made a vegetarian taco salad. I take two separate Tupperware containers. One container has a nice salad and the other one has 1 serving of baked tostitos, one slice of soy cheese, 1/3 cup morningstar crumbles, 2 tbsp guacamole, and 3 tablespoons of salsa. I microwave the container of the taco mix for about 1 min. Then I put the taco mix on top of the salad. It really tastes great and keeps me satisfied well into the afternoon. I'm not sure that this picture captures how wonderful it actually tastes.

Around 4:00pm I had an orange because I knew I was going out to eat and didn't want to be starving for dinner.

My mom came into town to meet me for dinner and a musical. We subscribe to several different musical series in Pittsburgh. This month alone we have tickets to 4 shows. Our dinner reservations were for 6:15pm. We went to the Original Fish Market. They make a wonderful vegetable sushi platter (and vegetable sushi is one of my favorite going out to eat meals)!

I began with some miso soup and we had bottled Perrier (that's what the bottle and wine glasses are for):
Here is a picture of my vegetable sushi platter. It included an egg roll, tofu roll, cucumber roll, radish roll and mixed vegetable roll. This was wonderful!! My mom really enjoyed her fish too.

We were done with dinner a little after 7pm and the show didn't start until 8pm, so my mom and I went to the Backstage Bar and had a drink. I had Bailey's on the rocks, because I was wanting something sweet after the sushi. Sorry no picture at the bar.

The musical was Mame. I knew nothing about it before going. It was pretty good. Some things in it seemed odd, but overall I was kept wide awake (maybe the Baily's help).

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!
