Not food or exercise related - but so cute!

A friend sent me this article earlier today, and it is the greatest thing I have seen all day.

How much did you know about relationships when you were 9 years old? I'm 26 and married, and I still have a lot to learn : )

I can feel Friday.

Once again I waited until the morning to blog, so I need to make this quick. I was having too much fun cleaning last night (sarcasm) and didn't get to blog.

Breakfast: peanut butter dreams and a banana...also I did snack on some PB Puffins out of the box while deciding what to have for breakfast.

Lunch was leftover couscous from last night, but really so yummy....

Some snap peas on the side and I was disturbed because I swear I could taste chemicals on them. I don't usually notice that on these. I must admit, they say pre-washed, so I didn't wash them, which was most likely my first mistake.

Apple as a snack. We are a little low on fruit, this was the last apple. Today I have to move to the oranges. No grapes this week VeggieGirl (how sad!!)

My office was so hot I couldn't stand it, so I took a little walk to Starbucks. I wasn't hungry and didn't need coffee, but I got a Mocha Lite Frap anyways. I should have just taken a longer walk, but I had these heals on that forbid long walks.
I did take the stairs in my office a bunch today (there are 20 steps between each floor). I walked from floor 14 to 21, and later from 21 to 25. This was 220 steps. I take the elevator down and the stairs up.

I had no clue what to have for dinner. My husband was at an MBA class, and I didn't want to make anything. I ended up putting some Morningstar Crumbles in a bowl with some jarred spaghetti sauce and topped it with cheese (vegetarian rennet from Trader Joe's). I also had a piece of homemade bread that I had made for Thanksgiving.

After some cleaning I did 16 minutes on our treadmill and a Pilates DVD. Before that though, I decided dinner didn't hold me over after all the cleaning and I had a snack. I mixed PB Puffins, dried cherries, PB chips and chocolate chips.

Off to work, happy Thursday:) We are so close to Friday, so hang in there.

Wishful Wednesday!

Gotta make this quick, but here is what went into my belly yesterday....

I ate a few blackberries while packing my breakfast to take to work. At work I made 1/3 cup oats with Oikos and topped with Udi's Granola.

At 11:30 I had a Dunkin Donuts Latte Lite to hold me over for a later lunch. I was mentoring at a city school during a long lunch break, and knew I needed something. The program provides pizza (which I only eat when made at home with vegetarian cheese), but I get hungry watching everyone else eat and smelling the pizza.

I got back from the school at 1:30 and ate leftovers. Tofurky, veggies, mashed potatoes and stuffing. I really hate wasting food, so I'm trying to get this all used up!

Around 4pm I had an apple. I cut it up in slices, because I think it lasts longer that way, hence the knife next to it.

I'm sorry about the quality of this picture, I have to get to work and have no time to upload another picture. This was cous cous with Morningstar crumbles, a steam bag of broccoli and cauliflower, some toasted pine nuts, and a little EVOO. I had a carrot on the side.

After dinner Steve and I went to the gym for a late spin class. Before the class we ran a mile. I wore my heart rate monitor just in spin class and it said I burned 533 calories in the 60 min class. My average heart rate was 160. Plus I maybe burned another 100 running the 9 minute mile before class.

At home I decided to have a couple handfuls of Sweet Crisps and a small glass of milk.

I wish I had more time to chat, but I must get my butt in gear to go to work! Which makes me ask the question, what are you wishing for this holiday season? I'm at a loss as to what to ask for, and my brothers and mom keep asking me.

Getting through the leftovers!

I hope everyone had a great Monday! It is always so hard to come back after time off, but I think I was relaxed enough that I was able to get through it well!

Steve and I were running too late for me to get breakfast at the house so I had a large skim latte in the car. Sorry for the horrible picture! I took this in the parking garage right as I was getting out and going to throw the cup away.

With my latte I had a Chocolate Coconut Chew Larabar, that was amazing!! I don't remember having this flavor, but I am going to buy it again!

I did 30 minutes of cardio at the gym during lunch and came back to leftovers. I think I have had enough Tofuky for a while, but I still have half of a roast left! I was the only one eating it! With the loaf was some veggies that we roasted with it, stuffing and mashed potatoes. I may have to eat this again today, only because I don't want to be wasteful.

Around 4pm I had a Jonagold apple.

Dinner included the products below. I love love love these Gardenburgers! The Trader Joe's Bruschetta is amazing too. We buy several jars when we get to Trader Joe's. I reviewed the Cranberry Fig Hummus a few days ago, and the english muffins I always rave about.

I put the hummus on one side of the muffin and I cooked the Bruschetta on the Gardenburger for the last 30 seconds of cooking. I loved all the flavors! I also had a carrot and some broken pretzel pieces.

I was still very hungry after dinner, so I had a z-bar and a Smart Ones dessert.

Well I am running late again! Have a wonderful and happy Tuesday:)

Crazy Magazine Deals!

I took a break to surf Amazon in honor of Cyber Monday : ) They have a crazy deal on Magazine Subscriptions that I took advantage of last year. They have great prices plus there is an additional $5 off when you add it to your cart, so right now Vegetarian Times would be $7 and Woman's Health is $ 9.90!! Woman's Health isn't $5 off, but $9.90 is a crazy price, I paid a lot more for my subscription. Now I need to think of someone to get Woman's Health for as a Christmas gift!

Okay back to work!

Larabars!!

I had been taking pictures of my meals over this holiday weekend, but they were so repetitive and contained a lot of Thanksgiving leftovers, that I didn't post. Plus this weekend just flew by and I spent barely any time on my computer. My husband and I were able to get so much Christmas shopping done. I'm really sad the break is over, but I'm trying to start this Monday with a positive outlook.

On Monday I was so excited when I had a package awaiting me. Larabar provided me and husband with a box of Larabars and a shirt for me:)

I had the lemon bar for the first time on Sunday. I loved how moist it was! I was a little surprised about how sour it was and that the lemon flavor was very strong. Overall, I like the taste of lemon, so I think I would try this kind again.
I'll be back tonight, even if my food is boring:)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! For breakfast this morning I had a scone from Whole Foods, with some jam, chocolate dreams, and cinnamon raisin peanut butter. Steve picked up this scone a few days ago, and I'm not sure what flavor it was.

I also had a glass of light chocolate Silk soy milk.

After breakfast we went to the gym. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill and then did some bench press exercises. For lunch I had an individual packet of Annie's mac and cheese with some Morningstar crumbles and peas.

I didn't take pictures of the food I ate for dinner, but I did take some pictures of the preparation of the first Thanksgiving we hosted.
This morning I made a 100% Whole Wheat bread in my breadmaker. It was very good. I think I might see what other flavors of bread mix Bob's Red Mill makes.

This is my tofurky before it cooked in the slow cooker. Steve actually prepared all the additions (onions, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, and some veggie broth).

Here are a few pictures of our dining room. I bought the napkins and placemats at Target and the tablecloth from Bed Bath and Beyond.

My mom brought this hummus. It was cranberry fig. She found it at Sam's Club and it was amazing!! If you can find this, I highly encourage you to try it. I'm sure it is just seasonal.

Vegetarians please shut your eyes.
Steve was very proud of his first turkey, so he made me take a picture. I have not eaten meat for 14 years, so I did not try this turkey. However, I am proud of the wonderful meal my husband made.

This is a little spread of snacks my mom brought with the hummus.

I made pumpkin pie (put I didn't take a picture) and apple crumble. This dessert had walnuts in it, so I may submit it as the BSI of the week. I'll post the recipe either way, but not tonight, I'm beat.

My husband also made an amazing vegetarian stuffing and mashed potatoes. Our friends brought an amazing salad with homemade dressing. I had one plate of dinner and some dessert. I also snacked on some chips and hummus before dinner.
I'm going to relax. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!
