I have still been on Twitter, because I can easily do that on my blackberry while I'm at work. Other internet use is a little off limits for me!<br /><br />I still want to write a few more posts about the Healthy Living Summit, and today's post is dedicated to <a href="http://www.joggerslife.com/">Elisabeth at Jogger's Life</a>. I bought her <a href="http://www.joggerslife.com/2009/almond-coconut-macaroons-so-good-you-might-cry/">Almond Coconut Macaroons </a>at the Healthy Living Summit Auction. Look at this bag of macaroon goodness!<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374217440037780834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGT9tr1ly6zJM_wpgKZrsk2Xn8zhzbdUmuP0kDtCeR98onlLfSBdzvkMpEfjo2KmTd0Q5qC1u2IgCeavoEkFmbjIdKwsmBAWXZS83EWzZvozCLJcTqG7gZNPC4_9tXkhw60cXuAI2Wokpn/s320/IMG_1076.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br />Look how cute she package them up!! I saved all the ribbon to use for something later. I really loved the tags she attached too. I would love to know how she made the tags because they are very professional!<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374217448126208674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA0Wq2MGtrgl4MfC4WYRLcMINXj_siFGYcVpprbRcSjtWoCxCuHsaC9YdbUW6WDIfipVB2pz7YjGfXPbpqfDHXoEQ0C6y1wJOlqpDG4m6iIbek6IZDxn1EfN6LPc7Tw7O4lhBJs_ztZV80/s320/IMG_1075.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p>I didn't get to talk to Elisabeth, but she did notice me in the elevator eating one of her Macaroons and introduced herself and her boyfriend (he was the only male attending besides Zesty). Elisabeth must have one great boyfriend to go with her to the Summit! My husband traveled to Boston with me (thanks Steve!), but declined my invitation to get him a ticket to go to the Summit.</p><p>My husband and I love these Macaroons so much that we want to get a dehydrator. Do you have a dehydrator, if so, which brand/model and what have you used it to make??</p><p>Once I find a free day, I hope to revamp my blog. I decided that this post will mostly be about the people that I met and I will use future posts to talk about the speakers, products, and content of the event.<br /><br />My husband and I left Pittsburgh later than we had planned on Friday morning and hit a lot more traffic than we had imagined, so I didn't get to our hotel until 7:05. Luckily I usually don't take long to get ready, and the event was just next door to the hotel. So I quickly got ready, had my husband take pictures on the balcony of our room, and was off to the cocktail party at Rustic Kitchen.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRKpN3A1zucF4AUMOOwbZB1S_qCxjZUncCWcM2v1jNjHnGF4dmRN6k9UrPw-Iug49fW55Utlhb8BLXlHx5IVMDGk6O6BBHtxPLEBuZO6fexz6BdAtgJYGzHhiLe9xY1aPYblXxC2bCj57F/s1600-h/IMG_1028.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370926939478470018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRKpN3A1zucF4AUMOOwbZB1S_qCxjZUncCWcM2v1jNjHnGF4dmRN6k9UrPw-Iug49fW55Utlhb8BLXlHx5IVMDGk6O6BBHtxPLEBuZO6fexz6BdAtgJYGzHhiLe9xY1aPYblXxC2bCj57F/s320/IMG_1028.JPG" border="0" /></a> There was food set out along the bar, which was refilled all night. I guess because I sat in the car the entire day I wasn't too hungry. I pulled off the cheese from some <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">flatbread</span> and ate just the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">flatbread</span>, then when I got back to my room I ate a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">larabar</span>.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8JvIRel-OT7jKq9rC5kkJYZYMUs18qeSg23dpJJKdZA4v9yVOXKUE0AAHCGDMu-s6vXK2kZi6_Jv22WshkUFPjTIE4cMhyyBmXg4v_kfuJ3xaEiitpWLt5zVqqVGPDiYmZ58UrMeSCtno/s1600-h/IMG_1039.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370926455857170338" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8JvIRel-OT7jKq9rC5kkJYZYMUs18qeSg23dpJJKdZA4v9yVOXKUE0AAHCGDMu-s6vXK2kZi6_Jv22WshkUFPjTIE4cMhyyBmXg4v_kfuJ3xaEiitpWLt5zVqqVGPDiYmZ58UrMeSCtno/s320/IMG_1039.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I was a little nervous about attending the summit having never met another blogger in person. So I was very relieved that <a href="http://onalobsterplacemat.com/">Rose </a>overheard me check in with <a href="http://www.hangrypants.com/">Mark </a>and came up to me. She instantly made me feel a lot better about the night. I think that is the nature of people coming from Western Pennsylvania. Thanks again Rose, and I can't wait to see you again! I also had the chance to meet <a href="http://graduatemeghann.com/">Meghann </a>and talk to fellow Pitt Alum <a href="http://www.healthytippingpoint.com/">Caitlin</a>. Also pictured here are <a href="http://onebodylifechance.wordpress.com/">Chandra</a>, <a href="http://bpspecial.blogspot.com/">Anna</a>, and Meg.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikYTtAYpxL_0yCJfOSSU5jdj_o50yaemPCeW_nMLqZ_RQEOTF4qo6bCZPm2Rnl53c3q88vSNUqXI93lu3C_KpHT-wVzvLZEnLES2rgAzPls-lbSBVoCc-lahL-x25el8ztU-EAVQRozmhD/s1600-h/IMG_1034.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370926435591416034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikYTtAYpxL_0yCJfOSSU5jdj_o50yaemPCeW_nMLqZ_RQEOTF4qo6bCZPm2Rnl53c3q88vSNUqXI93lu3C_KpHT-wVzvLZEnLES2rgAzPls-lbSBVoCc-lahL-x25el8ztU-EAVQRozmhD/s320/IMG_1034.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I was also happy to finally meet a woman that I have admired since the early days of her blog - <a href="http://www.hangrypants.com/">Heather</a>. I admire <a href="http://www.hangrypants.com/">Heather </a>for many reasons including her honesty, bravery and intelligence that are clearly reflected in her blog. I remember feeling hopeful when I first read her post about her past life at a large firm and her decision to leave that life to go back to school for teaching, because back then I was still employed at one of the largest firms and the world and was hating it! Not many people can understand the life which is a junior associate, so I am glad I had the opportunity to talk with you Heather and hope we can meet again! (By the way - I'm 5'7 and was wearing heels, which clearly wasn't a great idea).<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKt9tMPs9-6_mU8YmEOueK5SQAtaNOCgv_OTYejw3TCJDTj_PkO2y7UfShQYgkXb2xJASR3dUDf0fpzhb0BmxzG4HndbvQNlqiAHyiSGPJ4a-1eZBEJNTX-EtkBtnCeW4TD0BwrOcgFWp_/s1600-h/IMG_1036.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370926428007873378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKt9tMPs9-6_mU8YmEOueK5SQAtaNOCgv_OTYejw3TCJDTj_PkO2y7UfShQYgkXb2xJASR3dUDf0fpzhb0BmxzG4HndbvQNlqiAHyiSGPJ4a-1eZBEJNTX-EtkBtnCeW4TD0BwrOcgFWp_/s320/IMG_1036.JPG" border="0" /></a></div>After a super late night and long day of driving there was no way that I could make it to exercise in the morning. I did have time to get ready and grab a Starbucks before the summit began. After reading other blogs and twitter the morning of the summit, I felt guilty that other attendees could fit in a workout, but I couldn't. While I love blogging, sometimes I think I am too quick to compare myself to others and beat myself up for not being perfect.<br /><br />My husband took a picture of me before I left for the summit. Sorry for this photo, because I swear it was like he was sending me off for my first day of school! I was all set with my <a href="http://greensplus.com/">Greens+ bag </a>that was full of samples and information about <a href="http://greensplus.com/">Greens+ <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Superfood</span></a>.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRLFckSIjV_WBgy_Ip-2ZvAYlzKU7y5NYhV9woAnELOzb2zq0r0IqzXj_-NCoRZCAqkX1IuFuTicAt_lFZDMZ5rWqsJwJ-DRinHqM9p-USzvJ8V4ACuq8wOHqOdUWHkearHwWGzlrCrN9t/s1600-h/IMG_1041.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370924307026377330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRLFckSIjV_WBgy_Ip-2ZvAYlzKU7y5NYhV9woAnELOzb2zq0r0IqzXj_-NCoRZCAqkX1IuFuTicAt_lFZDMZ5rWqsJwJ-DRinHqM9p-USzvJ8V4ACuq8wOHqOdUWHkearHwWGzlrCrN9t/s320/IMG_1041.JPG" border="0" /></a> When I got to the Summit I first ran into a reader of blogs named Kirsten, who has a wonderful taste in clothes as does <a href="http://graduatemeghann.com/">Meghann</a>, as they were sporting Ann Taylor Loft clothing that I own too! <br /><br /><div>I also saw <a href="http://joeandbetsy.com/">Betsy </a>and her sister Emily sitting down for breakfast and quickly grabbed a seat with them. I had never met <a href="http://joeandbetsy.com/">Betsy</a>, which I should have done before Boston as she is a fellow <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Pittsburgher</span>. She is talented in so many ways as is apparent on her blog, and has such a great sense of humor. If you need someone to hang out with while Joe is busy studying during his first year of law school, let me know!</div><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTog_yH8daOfewsu2rxkxAvWReLHHBankI_rqfH1VhYlYWMZsAWUvxDKOp06QKKXqf0osWYPnLT5t29cE4DWFv4mbU-0mXVCrHWDGYVJ3lKrANp4xwRTNBxYmOorbbsyryXkPnGGxk4xGt/s1600-h/IMG_1051.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370924298826053682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTog_yH8daOfewsu2rxkxAvWReLHHBankI_rqfH1VhYlYWMZsAWUvxDKOp06QKKXqf0osWYPnLT5t29cE4DWFv4mbU-0mXVCrHWDGYVJ3lKrANp4xwRTNBxYmOorbbsyryXkPnGGxk4xGt/s320/IMG_1051.JPG" border="0" /></a> I successfully passed out a ton of <a href="http://greensplus.com/">Greens+</a> samples.<br /><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWMKSzyxMGaycSoIbWWH2k1sNSSZ3c7tBDgFnwrzUUsmv3x5GBZ9nUFzMCKzUD0PYKclQ6Tc0wZeUOaGGosNLf9UbYVAgsZIr1tUv8M7GomEysZM8yuOSIc7_KB33Gqai-BD_63v42f6XT/s1600-h/IMG_1049.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370924280872649362" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWMKSzyxMGaycSoIbWWH2k1sNSSZ3c7tBDgFnwrzUUsmv3x5GBZ9nUFzMCKzUD0PYKclQ6Tc0wZeUOaGGosNLf9UbYVAgsZIr1tUv8M7GomEysZM8yuOSIc7_KB33Gqai-BD_63v42f6XT/s320/IMG_1049.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Ladies, if you have any feedback for <a href="http://greensplus.com/">Greens+, </a>please leave it in the comments or email me. In short - it is not much fun, leads to endless headaches, and causes me to come home and refuse to open my computer screen. I am conducting electronic document review, which means I read documents that may be helpful in order to win a case in court. For instance if I was doing a criminal case (which I am not) and I am reading through some guys emails that is on the stand for murder and he is emailing a friend about said murder. Well that is what you call a "sexy document" and what I search for all day. The problem is reading thousands of pages of materials for 10 hours straight on a computer screen really is horrible for the eyes, mind and body. Well that explains my absence. I am hoping I get a permanent position soon and will not have to work as a contract attorney doing document for much longer!<br /><br />I am trying to get out the door by 6:30am because the drive from Pittsburgh to Boston will be about 10 hours! I am on my way to the <a href="http://healthylivingsummit.com/">Healthy Living Summit</a>! I have also tried the triple chocolate flavor. I love that these are quick and do not leave the mess that goes along with homemade cookies<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmQ5hkantpkiSHUR1TNVHzIsdG9JMpaSNwmSbRklHqEiNyVcAOsd_RJsHlW2jzB_KBCRDa8YvqaBXGC3MJOCCuQpJsiifDq91WaPa8kid7E-LRevgrnRMmIeSC866Rdfn-6f-UcgjxIoO/s1600-h/IMG_0968.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366275429730498962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmQ5hkantpkiSHUR1TNVHzIsdG9JMpaSNwmSbRklHqEiNyVcAOsd_RJsHlW2jzB_KBCRDa8YvqaBXGC3MJOCCuQpJsiifDq91WaPa8kid7E-LRevgrnRMmIeSC866Rdfn-6f-UcgjxIoO/s320/IMG_0968.JPG" border="0" /></a> The cookies are very tiny, so they are good if you just want a bite size treat. <br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrRqiF9ighbJxEg_QQuRn2oAFcYihWcCMBSEukLcvclmg9UqvRVsoaiWRBl_BL-2OXSWb7mE5whPl5m8EHw8vcwf39fHo3a_Uh69j63lHfUZ_iSeTsMk8v6PuUsdq8iE0lXi03Rzw4zMGo/s1600-h/IMG_0969.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366275427844659490" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrRqiF9ighbJxEg_QQuRn2oAFcYihWcCMBSEukLcvclmg9UqvRVsoaiWRBl_BL-2OXSWb7mE5whPl5m8EHw8vcwf39fHo3a_Uh69j63lHfUZ_iSeTsMk8v6PuUsdq8iE0lXi03Rzw4zMGo/s320/IMG_0969.JPG" border="0" /></a> My wonderful husband brought me home this <a href="http://www.divinechocolateusa.com/">Divine </a>White Chocolate with Strawberries bar.</div><div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366275416692680114" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvmDS6TKl9skpVaYk2O-e_5m_4mV24-KUHx_5cReEXgDWtiFRiE8_IsnBllb_doaMOuwfcH9qinh00JaHe8jRYcuxtnPTyKB4sNb0i38hJfYypXXW320jWHFFnr5Zr0PRPR9nDFw61w-Fo/s320/IMG_0965.JPG" border="0" />This was so good. One serving of Greens Plus delivers the equivalent of 4 to 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables. I was pleasantly surprised by the bar and emailed Greens+ to compliment them on their product. Diane from Greens+ asked if I would like to try some other products by Greens+.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhStf8KYQCp3rKJFUY6DkzS0dkKDGyWL0MJShGAVlLIizpgiC-ij8WZgqbDAcFOQp_1m6FHD41nZvx7vUwkcW-cUwobakDkC_A8P2zH8dEB05RWfwGfB6D-wwj8ntlpbNwiBb4OKyeMVDV6/s1600-h/IMG_0951.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364340748184089794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhStf8KYQCp3rKJFUY6DkzS0dkKDGyWL0MJShGAVlLIizpgiC-ij8WZgqbDAcFOQp_1m6FHD41nZvx7vUwkcW-cUwobakDkC_A8P2zH8dEB05RWfwGfB6D-wwj8ntlpbNwiBb4OKyeMVDV6/s320/IMG_0951.JPG" border="0" /></a>I have used the natural Whey Protein Powder in a few smoothies and couldn't taste it in my smoothie (my husband said he could taste a difference). As you can see the powder has a green tint.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364340096105098498" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcIWwBgcFxCDP3zpMSUNeVnRks_9AUdhkEE0ZWSjzlMQWjuV9IAnga42gZgp_1IGV2aCnPMyidiITdIS0qu0IouwpT7_Cl7JPQ6RAjXJ6qq50uP42ke4Z_dq10Ad9Yl3tvmjzjNAZccva4/s320/IMG_0954.JPG" border="0" />My plan is to challenge myself for 1 month to try to have some form of Greens+ at least once a day and see if I feel like I have more energy and glowing skin. My husband took the day off work to spend with me. We went on a 15 mile bike ride, went out to lunch, and tried to go get massages, but traffic was bad so we had to reschedule for last night.<br /><br />Back in June, when we were in Paris, Steve bought be an early birthday present from here...<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEito1UMEZhU9LthzTPDufICGy1DnyUszLAgUg18AgDtKQZJSHCzaYDdoTsDk6dGBD02yfgCtaJvC0oH8PGxkCk5Pc-zQ_J5wi9iUjSh_vck3xJZoqj6D2olS1K5auyGSMGLj7Anf5FmJ7Sy/s1600-h/IMG_0592.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362392146831370162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEito1UMEZhU9LthzTPDufICGy1DnyUszLAgUg18AgDtKQZJSHCzaYDdoTsDk6dGBD02yfgCtaJvC0oH8PGxkCk5Pc-zQ_J5wi9iUjSh_vck3xJZoqj6D2olS1K5auyGSMGLj7Anf5FmJ7Sy/s320/IMG_0592.JPG" border="0" /></a>Steve had MBA classes the night of my birthday, which left the night free for a date with my mom.<br /><br />My mom took me to one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh : <a href="http://www.cafezao.com/">Cafe Zao</a>.<br /><br />I started with the Zao salad, which I love because the vegetables are so fresh and it even has some hearts of palm and artichoke.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzw-iDPU8GBnp3MYrtKNdqfZUuwZ7H84LTqN1ap2oLKQN9CN7RK-HT1pPXuccswkTuuo_aNJQR8KdKn8bZmYK_yaQtzXSK1IEPpHB3z2X91qTm9muMsbDxqBSquPDD8_mR86iGL05ThlD-/s1600-h/IMG_0957.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5362391472485403458" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzw-iDPU8GBnp3MYrtKNdqfZUuwZ7H84LTqN1ap2oLKQN9CN7RK-HT1pPXuccswkTuuo_aNJQR8KdKn8bZmYK_yaQtzXSK1IEPpHB3z2X91qTm9muMsbDxqBSquPDD8_mR86iGL05ThlD-/s320/IMG_0957.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />For dinner I ask for a vegan plate (they said they have a vegetarian dish on the menu) and each time I have been here it is totally different. This vegan lasagna is so simple thanks to my food processor. In a minute I have am awesome filling for my favorite lasagna, or maybe the only lasagna I'll eat. Wedding guest are used to skipping traditional appetizers of vegetables and crab cakes and filling up on cookies while waiting for dinner to begin. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookie_table">Cookie Table </a>is actually an entry in Wikipedia<br /><br />The must-have cookie table is a tradition reflecting the diverse ethnic communities of steel-mill towns, especially in western Pennsylvania, who perhaps could not afford a wedding cake. So neighbors, aunts, cousins, grandmothers, and mothers would all bake dozens of cookies. Most cookies have thousands of cookies and the trays are replenished continuously throughout the night. Boxes or bags are provided so that guests can take cookies home with them.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-jjZMEnTqFIgn1WRbYXHqD4gLSqzaJCIMN2LQwkN26vGOsjbn7PS3o4IUlrtjjh4vt8hfyXHzwTH0d71QLf4aG3-Eq7n2k2vVEm-cfPD_dQjYp69EwV8iCtgVAorXIVrhp9cyPx2uIvGf/s1600-h/IMG_0909.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360514203893624098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-jjZMEnTqFIgn1WRbYXHqD4gLSqzaJCIMN2LQwkN26vGOsjbn7PS3o4IUlrtjjh4vt8hfyXHzwTH0d71QLf4aG3-Eq7n2k2vVEm-cfPD_dQjYp69EwV8iCtgVAorXIVrhp9cyPx2uIvGf/s320/IMG_0909.JPG" border="0" /></a>Usually family or friends try to make some cookies with the bride's wedding colors. Well the following recipe is something I make almost weekly to use up vegetable from my CSA.<br /><br />With our CSA, there has been a few weeks where we were overwhelmed with greens. For instance, this past week we had chard, beet greens, and brussel spout greens to use. So we washed them and chopped them and turned them into an impossible pie. <br /><br />Growing up my mom often made me a version of Impossible Pie, and I think it has that name because the pie has no crust to start, but then when it comes out of the oven it turns out as a pie.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi37Nh-9Zu0GZUTWmbl4qCsRoClwR_05ZgRbUfmHrjiZUqaqUMJC4xX4Q3PfXaOh9iRUZ0VQZfN8IOMFyNUmE2k1RzGTS5oLf-EbUKeGsdyrE0fVfZq9t50Jh2ssMhiFTZrR7iPN8NQRohR/s1600-h/IMG_0872.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358490322385113394" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi37Nh-9Zu0GZUTWmbl4qCsRoClwR_05ZgRbUfmHrjiZUqaqUMJC4xX4Q3PfXaOh9iRUZ0VQZfN8IOMFyNUmE2k1RzGTS5oLf-EbUKeGsdyrE0fVfZq9t50Jh2ssMhiFTZrR7iPN8NQRohR/s320/IMG_0872.JPG" border="0" /></a> When making an impossible pie, anything that is going to go into the pie must be cooked before baking. So, while my husband cleaned and chopped the greens I began to heat some EVOO with some minced garlic and onions, which were also from the CSA. I then added the greens to the pan with a half of a bag of Morningstar Farms crumbles. I seasoned the mixture with salt, pepper, and some Mrs. Dash Italian Medley. I sauteed this mixture for about 5 minutes.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4qAD3X_Pc-VvOx7uFf6nNNKilboLUTQ4e2lOq2HSOFWYqU1qpZqdUsb1_8_OvQfk9AFz4Fc9XlTLWk-tMYjuYSWFPFyKquEBPoB8lAgVQtdPiXoorhbrw8TJxUf0Dc6MGx9YZZih9-wS5/s1600-h/IMG_0873.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358489778639932978" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4qAD3X_Pc-VvOx7uFf6nNNKilboLUTQ4e2lOq2HSOFWYqU1qpZqdUsb1_8_OvQfk9AFz4Fc9XlTLWk-tMYjuYSWFPFyKquEBPoB8lAgVQtdPiXoorhbrw8TJxUf0Dc6MGx9YZZih9-wS5/s320/IMG_0873.JPG" border="0" /></a>All of these greens were for 2 pies and I still had some sauteed greens left over. I put enough of the filling to cover the bottom of the pie pan. For my husband's pie I covered the top of the greens mixture with some pepper jack cheese.</div><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_AeZmH8pETq4YqswsKFVFcr2E8_YAeWRZdcd86Tgm5qBwNsltnoLofmiGxcngApkB2C7oZkfFZTTB1An6SRD3fRI-plfPDHQ_HKmf0SSBLSw8C8G6OtUS7AhE-TEB3vMxNzoE7xHx154N/s1600-h/IMG_0874.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358489773035688466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_AeZmH8pETq4YqswsKFVFcr2E8_YAeWRZdcd86Tgm5qBwNsltnoLofmiGxcngApkB2C7oZkfFZTTB1An6SRD3fRI-plfPDHQ_HKmf0SSBLSw8C8G6OtUS7AhE-TEB3vMxNzoE7xHx154N/s320/IMG_0874.JPG" border="0" /></a>For the mixture for 1 pie, I used 3/4 cups of liquid egg whites, 1/2 cup skim milk, and 2/3 cup of Heart Smart Bisquick. While Bisquick isn't the cleanest item in my kitchen, this whole pie uses only 2 servings of Bisquick because 1 serving is 1/3 cup. I hope to work on altering this recipe to add some whole wheat. </div><div><br /><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8a81oTQE0MH-ltnn3LUgM2elbb1DOy7nLs7890NM8sEq5UP0I3XAqjALRw192f1MCrkmp8a0jzr5b0qjIOlkNrn2ClbOspN6NQtYH473nn6P_8KbRffMSCnVS7jyW6rUU9Z3N2J6b-x3w/s1600-h/IMG_0876.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358489755642423922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8a81oTQE0MH-ltnn3LUgM2elbb1DOy7nLs7890NM8sEq5UP0I3XAqjALRw192f1MCrkmp8a0jzr5b0qjIOlkNrn2ClbOspN6NQtYH473nn6P_8KbRffMSCnVS7jyW6rUU9Z3N2J6b-x3w/s320/IMG_0876.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here is the pie all done and ready to enjoy. <br /></div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOxgP4NkUUC5Fs6sPlpTH0bWb8L4jNEVhyHuJr5EHX8I4nlfhyDJeQE8dI3_v2xhDdNAjsCLMGkbVkEa3KPNN3T0X-LXgABHFf4bQM3mSpVJNGJco56bT15c40xfdCo5pIK9dCdGxlhXj3/s1600-h/IMG_0878.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358489749571683250" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOxgP4NkUUC5Fs6sPlpTH0bWb8L4jNEVhyHuJr5EHX8I4nlfhyDJeQE8dI3_v2xhDdNAjsCLMGkbVkEa3KPNN3T0X-LXgABHFf4bQM3mSpVJNGJco56bT15c40xfdCo5pIK9dCdGxlhXj3/s320/IMG_0878.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I have made these pies with broccoli, zucchini, and all sorts of greens. So I searched the Internet and came across a recipe for <a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/Crumble-Berry-Pie-166252">Crumble Berry Pie</a>.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357913400834367282" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7W-h143IFbyCycDQ3tcxif89MmP_4fYpMRxQRbGgmE9412UZ9wXxV0hd4wxyh-aP48Q5ykbTVGgViqTbD2c9mqQHXvVs7sj1qkSC86voNUYlrRY7wUPLLXwiRh9hZb7gokdF-ZFgRHsRt/s320/IMG_0868.JPG" border="0" /><br />I started out by taking my refrigerated pie crust out of the fridge to bring it to room temperature and preheated the oven to 350 degrees. Then I cleaned about 4 cups of fresh berries and put them in a bowl.<br /><br />I then prepared the filling to add to the berries. I added the following ingredients to a small sauce pot:<br /><br />1/2 cup splenda (I'm trying to get away from using fake sweeteners, but I have a huge bag of splenda to use)<br />1/4 cup water<br />2 tablespoons cornstarch<br />1 tablespoon lemon juice<br />1 teaspoon vanilla<br />1 dash salt<br /><br />Turn the heat to medium and continuously mix with a whisk until the mixture begins to thicken and then remove from stove top. Use a spatula to remove the filling mixture from the pot and mix it into the berries.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357913384884099842" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwzUZw_loXfACLLUH-Oxp3EM_BtzaymbZAZMDVAQQeZMTwN4dfi97A3-bldJ1suCQdy5PKdC888UR9d8EgH9c3YBR2wpbsP1MjiXK1BPbt-gYvJu8Cn1EBYlLpt1wcQgqtC_zDsCsy9ud_/s320/IMG_0870.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div>After the filling was complete, I prepared the topping. I mixed together:</div><div></div><div>1/2 cup brown sugar<br />1/2 cup whole wheat flour<br />1/2 cup oats</div><div>1/4 cup butter (I used Smart Balance Light), melted </div><div>2 tbsp of <a href="http://www.pomwonderful.com/">POM Juice</a> (added if crisp is too dry, any juice may work)<br /></div><div><br />I only added the POM juice because my crisp was still very dry. Then add the crisp topping to the pie, covering all the berries. Put the pie in the oven for 30 - 35 minutes.</div><div></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357913395607048546" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUGw0DLxTmtw2sCIOqcBScSx0SqpFO9O-Wnj4XKXK2wA0ZIeR8_-AdpUKbHOOt6VMGt_JddgZq3ZSPlDjBH7iX9Iodtqpoz4ziXJD630qavOiEjhHDOX42CukFpXcSWG0aiomFIFT8MtYW/s320/IMG_0869.JPG" border="0" /></div><div>Here is the pie with the crisp topping, after it was pulled out of the oven.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUMgal4d6x52W2jRclWZDlBiGTYK_sdbBTASDa07qcqvB02fW5_6AWEU5Rpc5QCPfbZp3SR1KNblUJjFClGcJsFMyvkmaIUJigxxjdQ_cPQsB0oLGkJtryHzDWuQKLAezWGZwYawr2gR3Y/s1600-h/IMG_0871.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357913381874723042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUMgal4d6x52W2jRclWZDlBiGTYK_sdbBTASDa07qcqvB02fW5_6AWEU5Rpc5QCPfbZp3SR1KNblUJjFClGcJsFMyvkmaIUJigxxjdQ_cPQsB0oLGkJtryHzDWuQKLAezWGZwYawr2gR3Y/s320/IMG_0871.JPG" border="0" /></a>My husband loved this recipe and enjoyed it with some ice cream for his after dinner treat last night.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZQEsmIyPrjSKJKs-JUzYPfCkJF5v7MsXeV4AdQPo9FlbC3nMuXJF78P859vHcKyKOnw3Dxr7q0pLg57M_kETNHZs49bZkkvU5vP5sIuNx9Rt4vmlYhYIJbeNZVUcUdZhaI0BadRR1VBhG/s1600-h/IMG_0879.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357913373602897426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZQEsmIyPrjSKJKs-JUzYPfCkJF5v7MsXeV4AdQPo9FlbC3nMuXJF78P859vHcKyKOnw3Dxr7q0pLg57M_kETNHZs49bZkkvU5vP5sIuNx9Rt4vmlYhYIJbeNZVUcUdZhaI0BadRR1VBhG/s320/IMG_0879.JPG" border="0" /></a> This was a quick, easy and rather impressive dessert if you need to bring something to a picnic this summer!</div><div> </div><div>Head over to <a href="http://ohsheglows.com/2009/07/13/sgbc-amazing-grass-giveaway-motivation-issues/">Oh She Glows for an Amazing Grass giveaway</a>. I decided to find a vegetarian cabbage soup recipe. However even this large crock pot full of soup only used half of the cabbage!<br /><br />I forgot to take pictures until after I ate and started putting away the leftovers. There was so much left over that I put two containers into the freezer.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirn9Gp8x1BRDa36E88sKU2IAta6_B5GPM8uO2y9JVTcqtyrj09ut0KPs_ckEJ4ULKGJCcevL-zLg7KPvTmJvIr7hWdLmR4M9ylpTF54D674XUs99GlK3KMq625WFo-Up2t_EM4s1JfKvhD/s1600-h/IMG_0859.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356439902402965410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirn9Gp8x1BRDa36E88sKU2IAta6_B5GPM8uO2y9JVTcqtyrj09ut0KPs_ckEJ4ULKGJCcevL-zLg7KPvTmJvIr7hWdLmR4M9ylpTF54D674XUs99GlK3KMq625WFo-Up2t_EM4s1JfKvhD/s320/IMG_0859.JPG" border="0" /></a> This is a very cheap meal because of the simple ingredients: cabbage, vegetable broth, onion, carrots, garlic, and a can of white beans.<br /><br />I found this recipe for French White Bean and Cabbage Soup in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1558322566?ie=UTF8&tag=thehealaw-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1558322566">Fresh from the Vegetarian Slow Cooker: 200 Recipes for Healthy and Hearty One-Pot Meals That Are Ready When You Are</a>. My husband bought me the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0738213292?ie=UTF8&tag=thehealaw-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0738213292">Marathon Woman by Kathrine Switzer </a>for Christmas. It is an autobiography about Kathrine is best known as the woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon and became the first woman to officially enter and run the event. Her entry created an uproar and worldwide notoriety when a race official tried to forcibly remove her from the competition. This book really made me realize how there was a time that women didn't and couldn't enter races like the 1/2 marathon that I have ran 3 times. It was believed that it wasn't healthy for women to run more than 3 miles! Kathrine was also the person to push for the Women's Marathon event in the Olympics, which wasn't an event until about 25 years ago.</div><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355682563201240738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9WCCd7bY7HeG_AhPWBBNbKrd_XNY1gepzmN2iB_8-oaGS7vm2R5nazQcCTN39-4x5DIWX_CDXYGALpVpK43BMAKm5y_OSlCy4c86wN_HybZVKS-YgCGTJzGE3HugCr0yKV8YC_k64fMQ7/s320/IMG_0858.JPG" border="0" /> <div></div><div></div><div><div><div>Even if you aren't a runner you can appreciate this book for the fact that it gives you inspiration that women can do anything!</div><br /><div>On an unrelated note, I haven't mentioned it before, but I have joined the <a href="http://greenmonstermovement.com/">Green Monster Movement</a>. </div><div> </div><div>I had a lot of Kale in my last CSA that needed used up, so I decided to add some to a morning smoothie.<br /> </div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2YaBnFvBs3u6ovGplX2gYeHhEPOG57GgaiN3MscVLhtooGuO3q7eX1puKF40R2ovbbwFuCKURfaaV1pJbtTZCB2csbbmNPWSEsrdFKZ56J3C6CzgERTHDQgjOUg4djdN0wwmOF6TTHjL4/s1600-h/IMG_0855.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355674011604548210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2YaBnFvBs3u6ovGplX2gYeHhEPOG57GgaiN3MscVLhtooGuO3q7eX1puKF40R2ovbbwFuCKURfaaV1pJbtTZCB2csbbmNPWSEsrdFKZ56J3C6CzgERTHDQgjOUg4djdN0wwmOF6TTHjL4/s320/IMG_0855.JPG" border="0" /></a>I used: </div><div>1 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze</div><div>1/2 scoop of chocolate whey protein</div><div>3 kale leaves (without the stem)</div><div>1 frozen banana</div><div>1 spoonful of Trader Joe's Almond Butter</div><div>Ice<br /><br /></div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD29S4jCOTWmgLpBiCWWJcwtJwrtkYeNdevSFHGYIbu4Y4lljyXG2jfQT23lPDzvDs8hjhAIlPFWW2Z_PpW2C3rcXXYXli2o43V7nBW_rhM2MeCS-_YbZ5qXUD4RvqJP6DEWpE_c8A7NuK/s1600-h/IMG_0856.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355674009207268578" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD29S4jCOTWmgLpBiCWWJcwtJwrtkYeNdevSFHGYIbu4Y4lljyXG2jfQT23lPDzvDs8hjhAIlPFWW2Z_PpW2C3rcXXYXli2o43V7nBW_rhM2MeCS-_YbZ5qXUD4RvqJP6DEWpE_c8A7NuK/s320/IMG_0856.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div><br />Love this!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><p><a href="http://fusion.google.com/add?feedurl=http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheHealthyLawyer"><img src="http://buttons.googlesyndication.com/fusion/add.gif" width="104" height="17" style="border:0" alt="Add to Google Reader or Homepage"/></a></p></div>Aimeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06612948278849581160noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3849900832899622773.post-23061157249708369072009-07-05T08:49:00.005-04:002009-07-05T09:37:02.828-04:00Veggie Burgers for Dessert?I hope you all enjoyed your 4<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">th</span> of July! I can't believe that <a href="http://healthylawyer.blogspot.com/2008/07/4th-of-july-fun.html">I have been blogging for a year now</a>. This July 4<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">th</span> wasn't quite as exciting as last year's, but I did get to make something cute!<br /><br />I haven't talked about it lately, because this is a health / food blog, but since I was laid off from my firm I have only had 1 interview. So I decided to get a part time job, so I'm not bored out of my mind alone at home all day. I am working at Ann Taylor Loft about 12 hours a week. Which means once I'm working as a lawyer again I will have a great wardrobe, but it also means I went from making over $60 an hour to only $8 an hour.<br /><br />Anyways, I had to work from 2 - 6pm last night. So that meant no picnic. We did stop to visit my mom in the morning and went to visit my mother - in -law in the evening.<br /><br />Before I went to work I made cute burgers that <a href="http://ohsheglows.com/2009/06/19/utter-madness/">I saw Ange make</a>, which were also featured by <a href="http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2009/06/fast-food-fun.html"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Bakerella</span></a>.<br /><br />I wanted to save time so I stuck to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">pre</span>-made products. For the brownie "patty" I used <a href="http://www.amazon.com/No-Pudge-Brownie-Original-13-7-Ounce/dp/B000GZYAN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1246800427&sr=8-1">No <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Pudge</span> brownie mix</a> that is mixed only with fat free vanilla yogurt (I used <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Stoneyfield</span> Farms). I used a Pillsbury mix (following the directions on the box but using egg whites instead of full eggs) for the cupcake "bun". I bought the icing and the sprinkles at Michael's craft store, which has an entire aisle dedicated to baking supplies.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH3HmpBIvQ5YWhiMPIyBivAFzZfUQqE3a7KFMN9Q4eMALIA2Z0Cb_6TOTyrwj0VCNwXNRW_g49py1oCY8git2fVi8Bk_mljTk8xJSfwljOnw6JIRkeEpZzpn534bv5FbPY28oJJ0UjP1pO/s1600-h/IMG_0854.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354961779572369698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH3HmpBIvQ5YWhiMPIyBivAFzZfUQqE3a7KFMN9Q4eMALIA2Z0Cb_6TOTyrwj0VCNwXNRW_g49py1oCY8git2fVi8Bk_mljTk8xJSfwljOnw6JIRkeEpZzpn534bv5FbPY28oJJ0UjP1pO/s320/IMG_0854.JPG" border="0" /></a> I used three different icing tips, so that each of the toppings looked a little different.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYqS1UesAgBBx3Py4dV6JIjZHV9_3eVOTEVJEyBV5yqPw4NL86kLxQhexbrQLdLjhLukUEjkszUeoN44JcmZMcJmJzHGvZYtSPYiAncxchFBcGXs62QrW3sxR6k4P00mSOLdI9K4wFHJYw/s1600-h/IMG_0852.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354961768998525090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYqS1UesAgBBx3Py4dV6JIjZHV9_3eVOTEVJEyBV5yqPw4NL86kLxQhexbrQLdLjhLukUEjkszUeoN44JcmZMcJmJzHGvZYtSPYiAncxchFBcGXs62QrW3sxR6k4P00mSOLdI9K4wFHJYw/s320/IMG_0852.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I made about 18 burger cupcakes in all.</div><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuo-WtUniENy1-pXfIu0olpahl1HPHiv5ZgM9KT56qgvUEt0RQ0aqon24BeEHQ2whz2Eyu74EBQBQmJMCmO-YbaaJ7BV9qV6NeXAr4hI9mbj0xQhYAzAFju9nBwJolzrTKHXJEMSXI2wmc/s1600-h/IMG_0853.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5354961765071816994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuo-WtUniENy1-pXfIu0olpahl1HPHiv5ZgM9KT56qgvUEt0RQ0aqon24BeEHQ2whz2Eyu74EBQBQmJMCmO-YbaaJ7BV9qV6NeXAr4hI9mbj0xQhYAzAFju9nBwJolzrTKHXJEMSXI2wmc/s320/IMG_0853.JPG" border="0" /></a> These were easy and lots of fun to make and serve!</div><div></div><div>My husband and I might go for a hike today, so I better go plan my day. I will pick a winner on Friday at 9 am Eastern Time.<br /><br />Last week we received a purple cabbage in our CSA box. My husband is a great cook and a couple years ago he modified his stuffed cabbage recipe to make it vegetarian.<br /><br />We started by steaming the cabbage in boiling water and then cooling it down in a bowl of cold water.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353817161306205506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUVVqNFdB6yDmb4mYfAtgoln5qO_erolQuOeOX_n6wOx3NnByzWCaX4mzvEcbq3UFxBO417BKdT5BKnerBn8Ldof0pVmjtIuoHatvdbPCApz5d1BSF-96y9XIgCbb1uss4F5Qe_1gANbUY/s320/IMG_0838.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div> While the cabbage is boiling, saute a large onion, Morningstar Farms Crumbles, salt and pepper in a little EVOO.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwZmdmY-pbzIChIPnm_cQULA1S2wD2032wsFWBjgMQK2flkCPGOzcQwoYFLnIeNy9zBvqknvRk1utdZugvN-0uyA6CpiCI657Hyl06nDbBoI3qLGYK5TucskdZRQ1CAEdisgbNcvFS6CoG/s1600-h/IMG_0834.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353817169472278914" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwZmdmY-pbzIChIPnm_cQULA1S2wD2032wsFWBjgMQK2flkCPGOzcQwoYFLnIeNy9zBvqknvRk1utdZugvN-0uyA6CpiCI657Hyl06nDbBoI3qLGYK5TucskdZRQ1CAEdisgbNcvFS6CoG/s320/IMG_0834.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />You also will need some brown rice. I will be the first to admit that I have said many negative things about my body in front of my husband. If he thinks I'm beautiful, why don't I? I have enjoyed reading <a href="http://healthytippingpoint-fattalk.blogspot.com/">Caitlin's</a> beautiful posts about ending "fat talk", and it has really encouraged me to try to love my body for what it has provided me (the ability to run 13.1 miles, bike 150 miles in two days, or even just pull reads). My mouth dropped open when I read that 54% of women would rather be hit by a truck than be fat and that 81% of 10 year olds are afraid of being fat. If I am blessed with a daughter someday, I want her to beat these statistics and be able to look in the mirror and say "I am strong. I am BEAUTIFUL." <div><div><div><br /><div></div><div>One of the reasons that coach <a href="http://www.girlsontherun.org/">Girls on the Run</a>, is because it encourages preteens to live a life of self-respect. So when Caitlin started <a href="http://operationbeautiful.com/">Operation Beautiful</a>, I had to jump on board. Today I finally posted some Operation Beautiful Notes in my gym's locker room.</div><div> </div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350590773226057490" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgILV1zRJchY4F10jFtOQPAcVfmybeAcEKZOovNiw5Kv6XvV-yzzsmerrGu6zzC3MtIKDWZw-avH8UarCxxUzSuKt86913M7dnMed3DlgKG31YcVyiRlNf5ZWks-rNmpKkgY5VCVsdWSpvZ/s320/IMG_0814.JPG" border="0" /></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350590758097076498" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgErPo8mFeJeIjqQwczBaGVIgP4U08TCdFg8lbgOxRq58yej_GYIXma0GAcRnxgH7AizcXSyjZ_i5Hw4AuJ64Tqp4cF_bgvehADrLEZiK2wqKY1Fp8y5hvCucBWuW6OfG_eDgZ-sBgsY-8i/s320/IMG_0815.JPG" border="0" /></div><div>I also took a picture of my dog with a sign saying "I love you just the way you are". We love it and have tried so many new things because of it.<br /><br />Tonight we decided to use up a bag of Braising Greens, which are a mixture of hardy greens such as kale, chard, collards, mustard, bok choy, radicchio, and turnip greens. We rinsed them off and chopped them up for a pasta dish. I started with a little EVOO in a pan with some garlic, chopped green onions and chives, and pine nuts. After a few minutes I added the Braising Greens.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDiqiqB7ZTNKGH8wFtvmw3gxI9AbwTa10vEJkVL6B2UxzMITh8xRvqYh3qgkoY4QexrLGPpmfougQ3Js1aQ_eOtvxa0aCqpVSlcwBA2x2xzjGkwepFcLBd2kIHTYEnBD2NERZ3nj7v0BGy/s1600-h/IMG_0802.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349911671390573634" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDiqiqB7ZTNKGH8wFtvmw3gxI9AbwTa10vEJkVL6B2UxzMITh8xRvqYh3qgkoY4QexrLGPpmfougQ3Js1aQ_eOtvxa0aCqpVSlcwBA2x2xzjGkwepFcLBd2kIHTYEnBD2NERZ3nj7v0BGy/s320/IMG_0802.JPG" border="0" /></a>Once the greens began to wilt, I added about 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes and some pasta sauce.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1QUSgYAsvsWScxThfPcs3C-_MfqsbqLFQqNcal-xWAAFO2JTJn4Zx0fA8DloNLPYrfBgy1nGKVpLwLBrn-vMPNoGjg1Eb2kKB6YKvNfTraZQ1wIuLBFEdR-auWdq6A6NIlrDwE1E2OP8G/s1600-h/IMG_0803.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349911667042211682" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1QUSgYAsvsWScxThfPcs3C-_MfqsbqLFQqNcal-xWAAFO2JTJn4Zx0fA8DloNLPYrfBgy1nGKVpLwLBrn-vMPNoGjg1Eb2kKB6YKvNfTraZQ1wIuLBFEdR-auWdq6A6NIlrDwE1E2OP8G/s320/IMG_0803.JPG" border="0" /></a> If you are interested, I used a pasta sauce from Trader Joe's.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1vqh-IME8JApSZWbZJE2DMheig4J0TsJoLLWZWmN70F_1jKHO0uTsVoKrQDFsGLa9KZnfxZ2fnDlx0KzCP85VCJH9VmZ2hreYTCnzosh_xiAHa5D1KAGOD6P_BOGVozMTorQgI1XV3AuO/s1600-h/IMG_0804.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349911657787541922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1vqh-IME8JApSZWbZJE2DMheig4J0TsJoLLWZWmN70F_1jKHO0uTsVoKrQDFsGLa9KZnfxZ2fnDlx0KzCP85VCJH9VmZ2hreYTCnzosh_xiAHa5D1KAGOD6P_BOGVozMTorQgI1XV3AuO/s320/IMG_0804.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I also used pasta from our CSA. This was a tomato basil pasta that was fresh when we got it, but we put it in the freezer the day we picked it up (it came only a few days before we left for our 2 week long trip at the end of May and we didn't have time to use it before we left). I could still tell that it was homemade because as I was boiling it, some of the basil came off and was floating in the water.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEB6-dFisYpj2FRD36TtMTg8w1Sh0FMzuH4ryG2tYaytV1qsRMcDQX4308D_c_f4M6FAdrVIG-cz3mkQZhfrKTZwlLrZOxgDa0tYJhauNd2jnKJhl1YSBDtt3cnDG-uC099mwJKw0P9Vdc/s1600-h/IMG_0806.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349911650737605202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEB6-dFisYpj2FRD36TtMTg8w1Sh0FMzuH4ryG2tYaytV1qsRMcDQX4308D_c_f4M6FAdrVIG-cz3mkQZhfrKTZwlLrZOxgDa0tYJhauNd2jnKJhl1YSBDtt3cnDG-uC099mwJKw0P9Vdc/s320/IMG_0806.JPG" border="0" /></a> Here was my portion, which really satisfied me (I think the red pepper flakes helped too because I ate it slowly because it had some "bite" to it)!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlP6iSuWKQeqfSjCxj_sIva0rueVGPmVROfyqjAf2b2g-OEsKbLZ7NAjJCQn-pknknwgzil5_QOXc9TszN7izfAlVdIUNNj98XQk8hhvSDVqpJU9rhttAVps2zcxmO0gAO_iJfw9hl1PTd/s1600-h/IMG_0807.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349911646559045410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlP6iSuWKQeqfSjCxj_sIva0rueVGPmVROfyqjAf2b2g-OEsKbLZ7NAjJCQn-pknknwgzil5_QOXc9TszN7izfAlVdIUNNj98XQk8hhvSDVqpJU9rhttAVps2zcxmO0gAO_iJfw9hl1PTd/s320/IMG_0807.JPG" border="0" /></a> I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!</div></div></div></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><p><a href="http://fusion.google.com/add?feedurl=http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheHealthyLawyer"><img src="http://buttons.googlesyndication.com/fusion/add.gif" width="104" height="17" style="border:0" alt="Add to Google Reader or Homepage"/></a></p></div>Aimeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06612948278849581160noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3849900832899622773.post-7919720087701580002009-06-18T14:12:00.002-04:002009-06-18T14:31:23.387-04:00Throwing a Baby Shower.Last Saturday I hosted a Baby Shower at my house for a friend of mine. I bought a croissant sandwich tray from Sam's Club, and I cut each croissant in half because they were so large. Because expectant mothers are told to not eat cold cuts, I made chicken quesadillas, that were in the frozen section of Sam's Club (so by made I mean place them on a cookie sheet and bake them for 15 minutes). I also ordered wraps from Sam's Club that usually have turkey and cheese, but I asked for no turkey. So it had cheese, lettuce, and sun dried tomato spread. They were cut into pieces, so they looked like spirals and were not a large wrap. I also had a tossed salad.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIEEmhJduv0OB7_xYnUEipMMcDzR2Qv3XwAT48IKANhoXLzigMkvP3mbv4Q2vCw6aVqaRQmfsYl-VokS2IcmyZ6B6xiLyBBxTTt_ICXz8K2c7q8Frd2ZveMFaJqyW2XKd49Sb_QQIFwCEd/s1600-h/IMG_0768.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348732995209081442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIEEmhJduv0OB7_xYnUEipMMcDzR2Qv3XwAT48IKANhoXLzigMkvP3mbv4Q2vCw6aVqaRQmfsYl-VokS2IcmyZ6B6xiLyBBxTTt_ICXz8K2c7q8Frd2ZveMFaJqyW2XKd49Sb_QQIFwCEd/s320/IMG_0768.JPG" border="0" /></a>I also bought a big tub of hummus from Sam's Club and some wonderful Mango salsa that is fresh in in the refrigerated section by the hummus. With the hummus and salsa I had Baked Tostitos and Pretzel Crisps. There was also cookies and someone brought cupcakes.<br /><br />For the drinks I made a non-alcoholic punch that had cranberry juice, ginger ale (pregnant woman don't do diet or I would have used a diet pop), and some sherbet. For other occasions I also add champagne to this punch.<br /><br />Both my kitchen and dining room tables hold 8 people, so I set up place settings at each spot. I used paper dollies and set the favors at each place setting. I also wrapped the plastic silverware inside a napkin and then tied it together with a piece of ribbon.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXS9sGb0PUclWOlYWlyOj9lHioO01tbzNKNnupqCnvmpC93GJJxgHU1TeKf558AUCMhNvmbnkpgnpBUvhgO7Y2UGllV4ng7hMg6u2E4NFtpPDoIibtkWm7FgWoLMrsaG5IOD5rdQeZsqEf/s1600-h/IMG_0769.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348732795820648722" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXS9sGb0PUclWOlYWlyOj9lHioO01tbzNKNnupqCnvmpC93GJJxgHU1TeKf558AUCMhNvmbnkpgnpBUvhgO7Y2UGllV4ng7hMg6u2E4NFtpPDoIibtkWm7FgWoLMrsaG5IOD5rdQeZsqEf/s320/IMG_0769.JPG" border="0" /></a> I then purchased to <a href="http://www.ediblearrangements.com/">Edible Arrangements </a>for centerpieces for both tables. Plus, I was a little concerned about not being able to get enough protein in Belgium (tofu and veggie burgers weren't on the menu at any restaurant I visited), so I filled an insulated lunch box, which I bought from LL Bean, with bars and packets of protein.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfl1_yf3AyGUnCjaNBtb_hEZbLeXL7_q9yzg2gRnhyphenhyphenTUNyhy_XePhMGKvr9m8A19qvQun_gbqNM-qzj7eudCzRqncGzkx-se7ZsdW2AwGmOVdJ6_zCpblUH6dj9Z-0AVNNYfFmsXS6tiLj/s1600-h/Jamaica+and+Belgium+215.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5347629542821537378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfl1_yf3AyGUnCjaNBtb_hEZbLeXL7_q9yzg2gRnhyphenhyphenTUNyhy_XePhMGKvr9m8A19qvQun_gbqNM-qzj7eudCzRqncGzkx-se7ZsdW2AwGmOVdJ6_zCpblUH6dj9Z-0AVNNYfFmsXS6tiLj/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+215.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Also, when I was at Sandals in Jamaica, where it was all you can eat all the time, I took some boxes of cereal from the breakfast buffet to use in Belgium. So I would pour the milk to the line, add <a href="http://www.jayrobb.com/">Jay Robb's </a>protein powder, and then add ice (because I like my protein drinks ice cold) and shake it up until the protein wasn't clumpy.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVUqHqDXsRZDD94h-YYd_uSSaEMHXT2-Z_l_g3C-9INSGHDFB9pzIozgb2-SZn3T3HvGjwUVCi2InenY1giy7yEQgmo9Wqs86dW53E7HA9MNnOQ9afLXSyiG3gYGZLLXvUlfeB9w53qsQ/s1600-h/Jamaica+and+Belgium+214.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5347629532998049138" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVUqHqDXsRZDD94h-YYd_uSSaEMHXT2-Z_l_g3C-9INSGHDFB9pzIozgb2-SZn3T3HvGjwUVCi2InenY1giy7yEQgmo9Wqs86dW53E7HA9MNnOQ9afLXSyiG3gYGZLLXvUlfeB9w53qsQ/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+214.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><div>Because Steve was at a conference with a lunch included, I ate my breakfast and lunch in our hotel room from the above stash. We boarded the train around 6:30 am and left on the last train that night which was around 9:30 pm. It took about and hour and a half to get to Paris from Brussels.</div><div> </div><div>We actually were there the same day as the Obamas. We didn't really know and were wondering whey there were french army men with huge machine runs watching only one leg (one that was closed) of the Eiffel Tower. Turns out Michelle Obama and her daughters were taking a trip to the top of it. </div><div> </div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346482191391691858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4lJiCHz5WIBT7U3LNl7RdhbkyHZ5j_GAwJSOZINMgjL0dEOFoEgomanXlX6xux85obuU1hZTZcJYkogVrwkE6D5_Ig7DyBBs0o5dZMyozdP332YJCQS5C1cLF1nHrnl2mjS0rfJ8VbP1j/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+644.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div><div>We ate dinner outside of a restaurant called Vesuvio, which is located on the Champs Elysées. Not a great restaurant, but we were hungry and just so happened to walk by and sit down.</div><div></div><br /><div>I had a crepe that was filled with egg and a salad. There was bread, but sadly it was stale and I got a house wine that wasn't very tasty. I should have ordered a dessert crepe, but I thought I should eat real food and this was the only think that didn't have fish or meat.<br /></div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkno5kVLRzogXNAa127WKgme2qdp6w9C7EqnyXJCSN6Vttr2uvdZzu0dDlottKZBHRLPqk_G2Bd7E1SuK7L1E_7AquPKVcs8MvPfGXTTRiHA7hyphenhyphenk4hvHkxG_tvjdclIvh7N7-Iv7FsNMo8/s1600-h/Jamaica+and+Belgium+755.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346479524899807714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkno5kVLRzogXNAa127WKgme2qdp6w9C7EqnyXJCSN6Vttr2uvdZzu0dDlottKZBHRLPqk_G2Bd7E1SuK7L1E_7AquPKVcs8MvPfGXTTRiHA7hyphenhyphenk4hvHkxG_tvjdclIvh7N7-Iv7FsNMo8/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+755.JPG" border="0" /></a>Also in Paris I knew I wanted to find a macaroon. So when In Belgium I certainly needed to indulge in <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Belgium</span> chocolate, waffles, and <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">nougat</span>!<br /><br />We stopped in a few chocolate places and the Chocolate Corner and the Chocolate Line in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Bruges</span> were my favorite two.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwzcj8LV0ak6j4Z3lLhRFoWfyjPzWn4fv4zppuJbErunQFQnkdf0XJdkISCBYBFUOFw_wVa-c3I0rTgwTcG0sNhD6JvPrMoLfwVhAoUjRQpXMviU1gA0OP209MxaEjatBRaoyCkxf_DSNE/s1600-h/Jamaica+and+Belgium+270.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345811618896728642" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwzcj8LV0ak6j4Z3lLhRFoWfyjPzWn4fv4zppuJbErunQFQnkdf0XJdkISCBYBFUOFw_wVa-c3I0rTgwTcG0sNhD6JvPrMoLfwVhAoUjRQpXMviU1gA0OP209MxaEjatBRaoyCkxf_DSNE/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+270.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div>This was a chocolate covered cherry. I guess I was expecting the fake chocolate covered cherries that we have, so I in no means expected to bite into a pit. I almost chipped a tooth. Luckily I had a few other pieces from the Chocolate Corner to try over the week to evaluate their chocolate, because I was so annoyed by the pit that I didn't enjoy this piece too much.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345810945799325314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvKJdrlmOrSjL1fA4PDWkDGkLQlladVox_dug1v2zEi2LSQ66qOq_qbeSMlgqBXxfj41F7pOqUarul3lM6VePCKNi6slb-OqNbOHbT_YbdrmtMffEya7vxWRbLC0et5qub1GfIZcdvG1kk/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+271.JPG" border="0" /> <div></div>We also found a fun cookie and candy store, that is a chain store. We went to the one in <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Bruges</span> but we also saw one in <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Brussels</span>.<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345810955694703058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1GonY0_2ZfqWjjsKGHljRBs5n0zSv5D8myhKK5BnGBLx5HULCda8nBuLB2WuZyCs6fmoAQyioFVGKLe3r3ltTjOxUNAUHXsDxr8uRF7mrfpEzslkzelkEpsX_IvCRwoqBsIra0-t2MpEr/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+254.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br />Steve loves cookies, so we bought a few to enjoy over the week. I tried a piece of a macaroon and another <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">vanilla</span> cookie. I wish we would have bought more to bring home.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOZrZTPfDGzHhaEUD_R3ceQvbFDoRH_rUiCQY2cOz43Tg-GV0o-95g_a_wqQu9mh7aDxCtOpp3GhCjBQU4eeaA6RtC9F0Q9errEoQV_SXtp_0rEqQmoHH4-oh37-_H13_w29A_WEctSSPN/s1600-h/Jamaica+and+Belgium+251.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345810967688438882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOZrZTPfDGzHhaEUD_R3ceQvbFDoRH_rUiCQY2cOz43Tg-GV0o-95g_a_wqQu9mh7aDxCtOpp3GhCjBQU4eeaA6RtC9F0Q9errEoQV_SXtp_0rEqQmoHH4-oh37-_H13_w29A_WEctSSPN/s320/Jamaica+and+Belgium+251.JPG" border="0" /></a>My favorite from this store was the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">nougat</span>. This is not how the natives eat them. They eat waffles plain. I also tried a plain waffle later in the week and it was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">truly</span> amazing. I have never had a waffle taste as good as these.
